So I recently watched a video from China about a little girl crossing the street, halfway across the street she is hit by a van and run over. However once she is on the floor the driver doesn't get out of the van to see if she is alright, instead the driver BACKS UP OVER HER and then drives over her again and speeds off. The tragedy doesn't end there though, as this little guy lies in the middle of the street people just walk right around her without even stopping. The little girl lies there motionless as if dead for several minutes, finally a woman takes notice and drags her out of the street and behind some boxes. It is only AFTER this woman takes notice do all kinds of other people rush over to see if the little girl is alright. The girl is shown a few years later and she is now PSYCHICALLY SCARRED and half-insane from the ordeal, all because of the apathy that runs through a nation who long left God behind as part of its heritage and history. (And this trend is deeply infecting America as well).
I find it funny that when a natural disaster like Hurricane Katrina or attack like 9/11 occurs people always ask the SAME QUESTION: "Where was God when this happened?" Seen many times as some non-existent entity for the weak-minded or some mythical force that is and around everyone on earth. The only time it seems people choose to recognize the existence of God is when they want to blame Him for something or wish to make a deal to get out of trouble for a decision of their own stupidity. But when everything is fine and dandy God "ceases" to exist, and if you believe in Him you are an idiot. So perhaps the answer to the question is God is right where we asked Him to be, outside our culture where He waits to be asked back in.
As we are told all the time, God is a gentleman. He will not force Himself somewhere He is not wanted, and the overall consensus for many people (our leaders especially) is that we do not want God in aspect of our nation or culture. This is a sad departure from our glorious heritage where our leaders opened up Congress with a prayer session and our Presidents prayed everyday for the wisdom from God to guide this great nation. As a result America quickly rose to prominence in the world and became one of the MAJOR PLAYERS in world affairs, coming to par with the Old Powers of Europe such as Great Britain and France.
Then came the 1960s in America, the Era of Free Love and Challenging Authority. Suddenly everything that the government did was scrutinized and largely disobeyed, also people challenged the longstanding traditions of this country like Prayer in Schools (banned in 1963) and the Sanctity of Unborn Life (abortion legalized in 1973). America turned from a Nation of Prayers and Morals, to a Nation of "Higher Thinkers" and Enlightened Despots. Suddenly God was not worthy or good enough to be included in our plans and future, the Leaders of the future wanted to forge their OWN PLAN into the next Eras.
And here we are in 2011: we have 9.1% unemployment nationwide (over 10% in Southern California), we are facing one of the WORST RECESSIONS in our history, our currency is quickly becoming worthless, gas prices have skyrocketed out of control, our current leaders (the ones who challenged the authority in 1960s) are now the ones sitting in their offices doing NOTHING (except playing the blame game), citizens are losing their homes, and boiling anger is running through the American Public as they demand the Government FIX THE PROBLEMS IT CREATED (while the cry falls on deaf ears). Yet people still say that God is not necessary or wanted, our Leaders scream about "Separation of Church and State" and how God is an outdated standard that the Educated no longer need. Is it any wonder WHY our nation is in rapid decline? We are the ones who told God to GET OUT OF THE COUNTRY and REVOKED HIS PASSPORT, yet we have the AUDACITY to blame Him when something goes wrong?
This dsylexic nation needs to make a choice about WHERE God fits into the picture, either He is to be included and OBEYED to grant blessings or excluded and not blamed when He "fails" to stop a disaster. Despite this "have it all" culture we espouse, we cannot have it both ways. We cannot live the way we want and not expect to have to live with the CONSEQUENCES of our actions. Really there is only ONE OPTION that works, and that is THE LORD'S WAY (without it we can kiss the Hand of Protection goodbye that God is willing to still offer the U.S.). Also our Leaders AND Citizens would do well to re-think their current Anti-Semitic feelings towards the State of Israel for sake of oil, considering Israel is our ONLY TRUE FRIEND AND ALLY in the Middle East Region. History has shown previous results of what happens to nations and/or empires that the Jews suffer under or are opposed by, they end up going down in flaming ruin. The United States needs to seriously examine itself before it is too late, Disciples of Jesus Christ are not the ones IN THE WAY OF PROGRESS. Rather we are the ones standing in the way of UTTER DESTRUCTION being visited upon the great nation for its choices, through us the Holy Spirit offers healing and redemption for those seeking answers. I can promise this: should we be expelled or taken away, MORE CHAOS THAN EVER would pour into this nation and it would COLLAPSE FROM THE INSIDE. Anyways these are just thinks to think of, I wish you a pleasant evening and will answer any questions you have.
"Righteous exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people." Proverbs 14:34
"I will bless them who blesses you, and curse him who curses you; and through you all the families of the earth shall be blessed" Genesis 12:3
